An intelligence gathering unit shall soon be formed in the province of Cebu in order to further buttress the consolidated anti-illegal drugs campaign of the province. This latest development was agreed upon during the Anti-Illegal Drugs Committee meeting on Wed., Jul., 01, at the Capitol.
The intelligence gathering unit will be composed of the various law enforcement agencies like the Philippine National Police, the National Bureau of Investigation and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. The Bureau of Immigration, Bureau of Customs and 78th Infantry Battalion also agreed to participate.
According to the Gov. Gwen Garcia, the special unit is designed to outsmart the drug producers. One of its tasks is to monitor the suspected drug dealers and provide preemptive measures to avoid the entry of illegal drugs to the province.
