OFFICIALS of the City of Toledo met with Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and Representative Pablo John Garcia last February 13.

During the meeting, Representative Garcia told the officials led by Toledo City Mayor Arlene Zambo that he is more than willing to extend his help.

“Subay sa prinsipyo ni Gwen, wa say pili ang akong tabang,” said Representative Garcia.

Mayor Zambo for her part welcomed Garcia’s move saying “this meeting has been a long time dream”.

Both parties agreed to keep their communication lines open and unite for the good of their constituents.

Among the things promised by Representative Garcia is the rehabilitation of the Sapang Daku River which has contributed much to the development of the city of Toledo .

Provincial Treasurer Roy Salubre also reported that as of the last quarter of 2008, Toledo got a share of P2.5 million from quarrying collections which is way above their share before which is only P200, 000.

The rise in shares was attributed to the strict implementation of check points and the new collection scheme implemented under the administration of Gov. Garcia.
