Once again, the municipality of San Francisco did justice to the patron saint of ecology, Francis of Assisi, from whom it got its name, by receiving the major award of the Expanded-Green and Wholesome Environment that Nurtures (eGWEN) Our Cebu program contest for the second straight year.
The complete list of the eGWEN program winners were announced last August 16 at the Cebu International Convention Center. Tabuelan, last year’s second place awardee likewise retained its rank, while Barili made a breakthrough, emerging as this edition’s third placer.
Doing the honors of handing the awards were Governor Gwen Garcia, Provincial Board member Agnes Magpale, eGWEN program manager, Robert Aboitiz, president of Ramon Aboitiz Foundation Inc. which is the province’s main partner in the eGWEN program, as well as other members of the Provincial Board.
